Rising super middleweight contender Diego Pacheco(22-0,18Ko’S)from South Central Los Angeles thrilled local fans at “War Grounds” aka as Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California with sixth round spectacular knock out of tough as nails Maciej Sulecki(32-3,12KO’s) from Poland. It was a left hook around the guard to the liver that ended the night for Sulecki, who went down hard and a was withering in pain on the canvas in a fetal position.

“Earlier in the round it was a little hard for me to land to the body”, explained Pacheco, 23, during post fight interview with Chris Mannix:” Like I said he is a great fighter. I tried not to show him that I was trying to look for that (a body shot), so that when I did, he didn’t expect it and that’s exactly what happened. There was a body shot and that’s all she wrote.”

Pacheco used his 6 foot 4 inches frame to set up his attack with a long jab and it worked well in early rounds. His opponent, a veteran from Poland currently living in New York City tried to get inside and had moderate success I rounds two and three. Diego upped his aggression in the fourth. It resulted in several furious exchanges that electrified the crowd. In the fifth Pacheco landed a right cross that wobbled Sulecki, but a tough veteran was able to survive the round. And just when I thought that Diego could have made it a lot easier on himself if he ever went to the body, he did just that and ended the night in emphatic fashion in the sixth stanza creating yet another memory for a venue Timothy Bradley named” War Grounds.”

It was a kind of performance that made a strong statement for young contender Diego Pacheco who is rated #1 by WBO in a super middleweight division. Diego expressed his willingness to fight anyone in his weight class, Canelo included.
In the co main event televised on DAZN, junior lightweight knock out artist from Sinaloa, Mexico Eduardo “ Sugar” Nunez(28-1,28KO’S)demolished normally durable veteran from Colombia, Miguel Marriaga(31-8,26KO’) in six rounds. Marriaga was able a number of right hands clean, but the shots had no effect on Nunez. Conversely, every shot Nunez threw had bad intention and seemed to hurt the veteran fighter from Colombia. The second knock down in the sixth stanza convinced Marriaga’s corner to stop the fight.
